Well , The Heli Gods where smiling today . I got the New Raptor 90se up and running . Things went Great , with no issues from any part of the mechanics . Everything was set up on the bench . And worked Great . Was running Rich , since this was a new OS 91sz-h , I ran 3 tanks of fuel thru it , leaning out 2-3 clicks each tank . Still was running on the rich side . Still hade good power for the break-in flights . The only issues that I can see , is finding a better power supply the rx . I was running a 4200 sub-c ,4.8 volt . after the 3rd flight , the Volt watch was showing just above the safe zone .

My suggestion would be to finish the "Break in and tweak out" on the 4.8v system and then look into the 6v OR 8V systems everyone is flying out there!!
Why, the 4.8 will keep everything slower now till you are all tweaked in and then when you JUMP START it with 6V the 8717's will come alive! (bad time to do the adjusting thing)!
Good looking bird and good luck and clear skies....

I think after getting all tuned in, cycling the battery through a couple of times, and wearing in the links your battery longevity will increase a little. That's the price you pay for those fancy-dancy hi-tech servos. Congratulations!

I got to run the 4 and 5th Tank thru her today . things went good . There was a 10 to 15 mph wind , that made things a bit Fun I sure like the stability of the 90 . I flew my little raptor 30 also . I was really twitchy with the wind gust . The difference between the 30 and the 90 . Was like, night and Day . The 90 took the 15mph wind like there was a 5 mph wind flying the 30

What is a good break in period for the OS 91sz-H ? the first 3 tanks where just Hovering for 2-3 min. Landing Idling for 1-2 min. Checking backplate temps on idle down . Tanks 4 and 5 , Hovering , slow forward fight , landing Idling for 1-2 min. checking temps . And repeating the same thru out the fuel limit . Still running alittle on the rich side , Plenty of exhuast smoke . Temps might be a little low on the backplate side . Just used the finger touch to check . I drop my my Raytech Temp gun , Broke the LCD screen

If your still cool to the touch your still rich, that's good!
Now that you have passed the 5Th tank, start reeling it in a click or two at a time, this should take you thru the 6Th to 10Th tanks!
After that, my personal opinion, if you broke it in rich, reel it in but DO NOT Run it lean!
You've done it right, start the click in slowly so you sneak up on the mixture you want, this always buys time! (safer method too)

Congrats buddy! Now your gonna start making it come alive!

On the battery.
My NoBS 4200 packs would give me near 10 flights. You should be burning around 400-500mah per flight, unless you are just bending the crap out of the sticks on your break in flights (even with the 8717).
You may have a high impedance pack, or it was not properly formation charged, or you have something binding and eating a lot of juice.

Congrats on the maiden.
It is always good to see a first flight, specially when it is such a large and powerful heli.

You must be proud - and have every right to be!

...Enjoy the new heli!
