| If you're going to replace the gyro and think you might be in the hobby for some time to come, you might want to consider going with something proven that might carry over to your next heli.
I can't specifically bag on the eSky gyro, but typically with the electronics in these birds you will get what you pay for. I think you'll be able to find a Futaba GY-401 used on this forum or eBay for under $100, and while it might not be the top-of-the-line anymore, few would dispute it's performance on up to and beyond the skill level that most of us will ever achieve. I have three of these and they are good, solid gyros--easy to setup and easy to forget about because they just plain work.
