Ok, new vbar on a trex600n, took me forever to trust this thing and get it setup. I finally did and it wont connect. I cant get it to turn from a red to green light in the software......This is with the orig. swr, and also the newest version.
What am I doing wrong?
My first vbar experience has been extremely frustrating and taken a heli out of action for over a month.....No matter how it flys(if it ever flys) this is not fun to deal with.

Is this a usb or serial vbar?

What OS are you running? Apparently the usb drivers don't work with Vista.

Do you have the usb drivers installed?

Be sure that the soft is in USB mode (will be displayed at the top). If it shows "com..." this won't be so.

Be also sure that you have installed the device driver for the vstabi unit at your pc.

Does the vstabi appear at the hardware list of your pc?

Im embarrassed to say what happened.
I had the inputs upside-down. Neg->signal
I finally tried switching then around and now it works fine.
Time to get it dialed and go for a flight.
Im kind of excited now.......

Ok, Im the only one around here with this unit, so b4 I shoot it off, please I need more assistance.
Ive read the instructions, and the 600n supplement,(numerous times and follow it closely) and have set my trims to neutral, and the swash to 1 servo on a dx7 with an ar7000.

Im using the Mikado load of 600n and changed nothing in the swr or radio except what is mentioned below.

My swash is moving weird, like when I first learned eccpm. I found at one time a nice schematic and explanation of channels used, but cant find that any longer......

Im using 8717s and my previous curves as advised and set my stick to zero and mech adjusted my stuff from there..........all like the manual states.....but Im not confident in this........

I need some simple help as no one local can do this.......

Ok, with the help of inkspot, im ready.....

It truly isnt that hard (with about 15 minutes of friendly tutorial). I feel very comfortable now, up from never wanting to fly this to not being able to wait to fly this....

The ability to adjust is sooooo nice!

I'm also having a problem with my V-bar not connecting, but it is not the inputs. Mine connects to a friend's laptop, but not to mine. Could it be the com port? How can I be sure it is in USB mode?

Im back in the same dilema....


While at the field, it connected, and I was checking settings for 30 secs before flight, then it just disconnected......

Now it wont connect to any computer and I have no flight controls.....

It used to turn half green and then fully when I turned it on, now its red at all times.....

This is a major drag as it worked fine last night, and with absolutely no changes, it all of sudden quit connecting....

Im so glad I didnt try and fly it.....
This is quite the piece of equipment.....

Im really bummed now.....I packed my camper to go the field and dont have time to take all the vbar crap off now.......

I cant trust to fly this thing......

It was connected fine then wammo, its like the brain went out.......

Someone/anyone have a snakeoil cure for me.......PLEASE!!!!!

Im just mad and disparate now.......Something this hobby should not be about....

I was so excited last night for this huge let down.....


*Tried 2 other cables, no difference.....

when you first connect it to the computer you must first turn on radio then the heli and have the vbar program up and running on the computer, then you connect it to the vbar it will connect then.

is that what you are doing to connect it?

Ive tried every combo of that...

No matter what, the flight controls dont move or even buzz with or with out the cable hooked up....Ive unhooked and rehooked it up a lot of times now....

I can only figure i have a bad central unit....

I leave for NY on Mon and this will sit for another month......
