Scale Model RC Helicopters > align 600N in md500E fuselage shakes

I have my align 600N w/ OS 50 Hyper / rotortech 610 main blades/ 95mm tail blades. original headspeed was Norm /1770 S1/ 1820 S2/ 1850
Heli was flying fine as pod and boom with no noticeable shake or vibration at all.
decided to put into Align's MD500e Fuselage
went together pretty easy and the resulting scale ship came out real nice .
I have a high speed vibration on the two little vertical fins on the ends of the horizontal tail fin ,very high speed left / right shake
I am scared that the tail will eventually shake itself off.
tried varying the headspeed
norm at 1670 seems the best but definitely the tail still shaking
tried headspeeds of 1620 1640 1680 1720 1770 in addition to original above headspeeds ....all worse
any ideas on how to get rid of the shake ???
thanks

I had a bad vibration in my Funkey H500D. I traced it back to two things. One, I had a slight imbalance in the blades that didn't show up while flying pod & boom, but REALLY showed up once the fuselage was on. I have discovered that balance is much more critical once a fuselage goes on.

The Funkey fuselage has two metal brackets that attach to the frame and the upper fuselage. Not sure what the TT fuse has. In my case, I couldn't get this connection real tight. Result, more vibration. I modified the connection point so it was easier to get a soild connection.

I still have a very minor vibration in the tail, but I was told even the full scale 500's do.

Good luck!

If everything is balanced, you can try to switch the blades on the grips. If this does not help then look at the bearings in the tail case.

No matter how hard you try to balance pieces on the heli, the fuselages will amplify even the slightest vibration from some resonance in the fuselage. My airwolf's vibration was so bad, it actually caused some damages to the fuselage. As soon as it lifts off the ground, it would get a sudden burst of vibration couple with loud noise. Sounded like you lost a paddle or something.

In addition to the two mounting brackets that came with the Funkey fuselage, I added two more near the back. I went as far as fabricating a bracket for the tail gearbox. No help.

Turned out the solution was two fold:
1. Tighten the main blades tighter than usual.
2. Lower the head speed. I was told 1600RPM was where they're happy.

Try it. They may or may not work for you. But it did work on mine and some others.
