Need advice on putting a scale body on hummingbird. Actually interested in the airwolf in particular

What mods etc. need to be done to make it work?

Thanks for any advice.

Hummingbird bodies

I think the best advice is to keep it light....weight makes a big difference to these heli's...

Check out the bodies at helihobby.com, as some of these have instructions on line.

Would also recommend a better spec motor, and Li poly batteries to get max run times and power...

There is a link further back which has a foam body for the picollo....and it looks awesome... http://runryder.com/helicopter/t42630p1/

Before you throw a bunch of money at it. Try taping a one ounce lead weight to it, and see if it will fly. Suprise.................It doesn't.

Actually was gonna go with a modified motor and new batts first. Always wanted a scale and this is more affordable than its bigger brothers.

If you do decide to fit one, make sure you take some notes and pics for the rest of us as you go along !!!

I have an Airwolf body if you are interested.

helimike77,

I have a JMD Airwolf body that I would sell for $30 shipped. This basically saves you the cost of shipping from JMD or other retailers.

It is new and unpainted. It only has an initial trim to get the extra thermoforming lip off. There is about a 1/4" of material to be final trimmed all around. The main shaft opening and bottom battery openings have been roughed out in a similar fashion.

Let me know if you are interested. Joe (ruedinger@chartermi.net)
