Thunder Tiger Raptors 30-90 - Imperio > RAPTOR 30 HeliMax HMXM-1500 Governor Question

I have an old Helimax HMXM1500 governor going on my Raptor 30 OSMax 32 engine and was wondering if I am supposed to change the pins on the governor hall sensor when changing the pins on the throttle wires? I don't want to burn this up? The instructions say it is a Futaba style with red pin in the center and my reciever is an old Airtronics that has red pin on the end. I am assuming that they both need changed before I connect and place in test mode. Please help! I am sure I will have other questions once bench tested.

I downloaded a manual from helimax website http://manuals.hobbico.com/hmx/hmxm1500-manual.pdf

Thanks!

Leave the sensor be in all cases.
The alteration applies to older airtronics receivers and servos that had different wiring pin positions. Just make sure the signal is on the end with the red wire in the center pin of the connector leaving negative at the other end.
Look closely at the instructions and if using airtronics look carefully at the vintage. You'll have to move the pins on your throttle servo if the old airtronics type and move the pins on the two governor connectors for the receiver throttle and receiver aux channel.

Another question...how important is it to get the spacing of the magnets. If you are about 2mm off will that make a difference, and if so...what? RPM? They are not exactly 120 degrees from each other.

115 or 125 likely won't make a difference. It's going to overspeed some no matter how you set it up.
