Radio - JR & Spektrum DSM > AR7000 setup on ESMART 600 help

I have an AR7000 RX that I want to put on my ESMART 600. I am using a DX7 to control it. The problem I am having is that I have no clue where to put what wire on the RX. Any suggestions? I have tried many different combinations to no avail.....

Also, what is a good base line for TX setup for this heli RX combo?

Thanks.

your three swash servos will be the ail, elev, and aux1 channels. the esc should plug into the batt and thr ports unless you have a bec in which case it goes to the batt and the esc only plugs in for throttle signal.

depending on your gyro setup, gyro plugs into rudder channel and I usually run the gain on the aux2 or gear channel.

I'm not up to speed on the swash setup for the esmart but I can tell you that pretty much no matter how yours is (eccpm or mechanical) you will need to do some programming in the radio to make things function as they should.

Be more specific I suppose as to your questions, if you don't know where to plug things in then either you don't understand mech mixing or you have eccpm and are having issues with programming..you can probably get some more info if we can narrow that down.

Your right, I dont really understand mixing. But Im trying to learn. I dont know if the swash is eccpm or mechanical. How do I tell? I plan on using a GY401 gyro plugged into the AUX2 channel. I also have a RX battery with a BEC.

I had a buddy help me set up my TREX 450 but he didnt explain what he was doing (at least not very good). I am trying to find someone else to help me here but no one has time right now. I can wait until Sunday, but I would like to have it set up by then.

Hope this helps.

rr is a great resource so a bit of time searching for your answers will certainly help.

Eccpm and mccpm accomplish the same thing just they do so differently. With eccpm all three swash servos will work in conjunction to perforn the desired movements for ail, ele, and pitch whereas with mccpm a seperate servo accomplishes each task.

If I wasn't responding from the blackberry I'd search around and tell you how to get things going but if you don't find what your after shoot me a pm and ill give you my number for a basic explanation.

You need a programming guide for the dx7 and an explanation on the differences on eccpm and mccpm and I've seen pretty good articles on both subjects in rc heli mags over the last year.

If someone doesn't have those resources posted for ya tomorrow I'll see what I can find.

hey man...that Heli is a CCPM setup...not mechanical..

the servo that connects to the back of the swashplate is the "Elevator" servo on the Rx.

The one on the right side of the heli(tail facing you) is the "Aileron" servo

The one on the left side is the pitch(AUX 1 on radio)

you need to set your radio to "3 servos" for mixing reasons on the radio.

Now...when you move the collective stick up...the 3 servos should all move up or all down..if one is backwards...go to the servo reverse option on the radio and reverse that servo...once you have all the servos moving together..then check forthe correct directions...if the swash movement is backwards from input then reverse the travel value on the "swash travel" input on the radio(pitch, aileron, elevator) those should all be about +-60% each...but adjust accordingly.

that's all you need to do

Stupid, stupid, stupid.....

Cool thanks for the info. But my new-b self done went and messed up.

Not thinking I hooked my RX battery up and started playing with the servos. Well I forgot about the BEC which lowers the voltage to 5.8 volts. So 2 out of 3 servos are fried....or at least they wont work now. The bad part is they were only hooked up for a short time. So, 2 new servos will be ordered soon.

I will chalk this up to leasons learned. So once I get them ordered and they get here, I hope to get it working.

Thanks for the info though, it should help a lot.

Servos are ordered. They only cost like $60 for the 2. I guess that isnt that bad. Been a lot cheaper without the brain fart though.

Ok, servos should be here sometime this week. I hope by tomorrow. After that I will be trying to get this thing airborne.

Hopefully all goes well.
