Avant Aurora - EFX - FX > Is this the norm with defective kits?

I recieved my replacement parts earlier this week, all of which looked great. So I continue with the build after the parts arrive, now Im at another standstill. Two of the 6mm blocks in the kit are defective (mis-cut threads).
It looks like another week delay. I realize there have been a certain number of kits with "defective" parts, but has the amount per kit been this "high"?

take care, dont step on the toes today that may be connected to the butt you have to kiss tomorrow!!

I have the same problem. Seems the farther I get the more problems I run into. I have 3 blocks that have no threads in them. So now I have to do a full tear down to send the stuff back. Thats a week and a half down for me. I'm a lot farther from CX. I wonder how many problems like this are out there now. I am so frustrated that I have not been able to even look at it for 2 days now.

EDIT: 3 days

WELL

Shouldve bought a Trex 700 you wouldnt have this trouble. LOL

Im just kidding guys. I really didnt seem to have to many issues with mine all my blocks seemed to be tapped right I did have to tap the main shaft a little more so that it would tighten up against the pin. It would also seem they are pretty fast at sending parts out. Oh the other was I was missing my pitch slider got that within a couple days but I'm also in California.

Have fun with your build it sucks when your missing stuff I know but I built what I could with out what I was missing

Well I think I can fly it..............UH OH OOPS heres your heli.

Guys, we are in the same boat. Few wrong parts amd missing parts have been a real pain in this build. I bought this heli two weeks ago and have not got too far from just past opening the box it feels like. We sent parts to Avant Priority Mail that got there on Friday and they tried delivering it Friday morning and nobody accepted it (on a business day, come on!)and the post office still says they made the attempt to deliver on Friday so we are in the dark as to what the heck is going.
Man I hope nothing else goes wrong in this build!

These issues are frustrating and Im really hoping that I dont experience any more problems or else maybe someone can get a real good deal on an Aurora
Heck, my canopy will probably be back from paint by the time I get enough "good" parts to complete the build.

So Captrip who is painting your canopy???

I need to get mine done as well and wondering what turn around is from some of the painters out an about. I want to take a paint scheme from a canomod canopy and have it painted on my Aurora its sweet looking.

Well I think I can fly it..............UH OH OOPS heres your heli.

I agree. I have since day 1 been behind the release of this heli. And now, after a VERY LONG wait. I finally get my kit and it is very hard to keep my composure when I can't even get the thing built. I am going to try and assemble the rest of the parts to see if there is anything else wrong before I package it all up to send back. What a deal. Well good luck with your parts guys. I hope to at least have it in the air by IRCHA.

Culverdan,

I am having Angelo from AngGrafx do the paint. He's a real nice guy, has great prices and his work appears to be second to none. He's an advertiser here on RR. From the homepage, scroll down all the advertisers logo, you'll see a "Got Paint?" logo, thats his. He has a gallery with some of his work.
As for the parts, I know we'll all recieve them, its just the week, albeit 1, 2 or 3, delays we have to deal with.

No need to worry. I'm sure by the time the Aurora v.2 is out sometime in mid-2012 most of these issues will be resolved. Sorry to hear about these headaches. I can't imagine paying premium dollar, after waiting literally years for a heli, then not being able to complete the build due to inferior parts. Yes, the 700n is looking very tempting...

I would love to take my Aurora to IRCHA, but I think I will leave it behind, due to the fear of it being stolen. Oh yeah the 700n crossed my mind alot lately here, but I figured I would have the same luck wiht it or someone would want to trade even up for a 700N (YEAH RIGHT!) I am overly excited to get this thing going and the delays and lack of direct communications is horrible. Captrlp, good luck on your end and hope things go good for you and the same for Schuster!

Trickytiker,

Thats two of us I finished my Blitz Avro last week. I may add, it was a dream to build and the quality is absolutely amazing. I think the Blitz Avro build compounds the issues Im having with the Aurora.

I finally recieved a response from Avant regarding my second batch of defective parts. They are shipping today, two days after I was told they would ship. I guess its better late than never.
