Hi, I need some help. Can some one tell me how to make it more aggressive. Here's a pic of where it's set right now and the blue arrows are where I think I should move everything to..
Let me know if that's right..
Thanks,
Marc

Your right on, another thing you can do is add spacers on the swash to increase the throw. I ave them on my stratus. I will take a pick tonight and post it so you can see what i mean. I also have a tempest as well i will tank a pick and post that as well (the head)

Longer balls on the swash (to the pitch links) will help too...

Hey man, why does my lipo get bigger every time I charge it?

Like the century stuff they have the longer ball links on the pitch side. I was thinking about that but didn't know how much that would help. Thanks.

You are correct. You may also consider switching to 690mm blades. 710's create a larger rotor disc that can make the heli flip/roll a touch slower.

The tempest head is wider than my extreme head so if I change the 690s to the tempest and the 710 to the extreme I would have the same size rotor disk. That might make them feel more alike..

Why would moving the ball on the flybar carrier closer in have an effect that would make it more agressive? My intuition tells me it would have the opposite effect, but I'm willing to learn why I'm wrong.

I think for the same amount of servo movement you get more angle or pitch on the paddles. But I'm learning as we go along. So don't take my word on that....

Moving the ball in on the seesaw makes the flybar have less of a stabilizing input on the disk, so it will fly with less stability and feel more aggressive. Personally, I like that all the way out like it is in the picture, it gives great stability while still being very fast.

Don't forget the role paddles and flybar lengths play in tuning as well. I just switched to a 21" flybar on my Spectra with the Tempest head, and the cyclic speed is very fast while being stable and locked in. Best of both worlds.

I already have the 21" flybar and the white 3D paddles and it still is not as aggressive as the extreme and it has the 18" flybar and 3D paddles. Would putting a extreme head on the tempest help.

IF you want to just change the head, then yes, the Extreme head is more aggressive, that's the whole point of it. I'd see what you can do to get the stock head flying more like you want. I'm not sure how much of a difference in geometry there is between them, but you have the old style flybar carrier, they are now shipping with a stratus style flybar carrier and cage, that's what mine is. Also, you can tune the response with different length balls on the mixer arms.

Nothing wrong with the Tempest head. Go for 18 gram SAB or V-Paddles (85MM). I never liked the MA plastic paddles...

OK I have somethings I'm going to try. I have been loading all my stuff between posts so I'm headed for the field.

Thanks guys and I will let you know how things work.....

Hey guys,
It's a lot better. Still not as good as the extreme. The extreme will flip/roll on it axis the tempest will roll out about a rotor disc length. It was rolling out 2 rotor disc length before. So you guys helped a lot.
I think that a set of radix sb's and v paddles will take it in on it's axis. I have not been flying it for along time because it was not as aggressive as the extreme.....
So thank you guys
Thanks,
Marc

Yep, put a set of Radix 690's on that puppy and you'll be a happy camper. For real fun try ZigSaw 680's. You'll wet your pantz...

I changed the links before I went to the field and the first flight was with the 710s. It seemed a little better but when I put the 690s on big change...

Move towards the main shaft on the holes on the flybar pivot tube to have the cyclic be more aggressive. also losing weight on the paddles can help as well. If you have a paddle set that includes a flybar weight then try moving that more towards the main shaft or even take it off.

Would putting a Stratus flybar carrier make noticable difference to my Tempest ("old" 3D head)?

Thanks!
