okay i just rebuilt my r50,and im having problems with my tail kicking out when i punch collective be it pos. or neg. my gain is ok or was before the mishap.there was some slop in the arms that connect to the tail blades put new bushings and screws in them so slop is gone.engine is not to rich or lean.what else could be giving me these problems.

If you are at 2100 you might be running out of motor . Lower speed around 1900 and see if things change.

Check the red tail pulley gear for wear. When my tail started letting go, it turned out to be that gear's teeth wearing down and the belt slipping on that pulley.

Also, if you have recently put the tail back together, it is possible that upon reassembly the same belt has been installed in the 'reverse' orientation. I'm not talking about a wrong twist. The belt runs in one direction normally and wears the belt teeth in this orientation. Upon reassemly, it is possible to install the belt so that it runs wearing the 'other' side of the teeth.

ya we thought i might have accidentaly turned on the revo mix but it didnt have any.i will have to check the belt again for wear on the teeth it very well could be the belt.its just really odd because this thing was flying like a champ then after the mishap it hasnt been the same.

Thers always a chance that your taile blades could be flexing, esp if you are using stock plastic blades or your rod guides are loose.

Could you have damaged the Gyro in the crash? That's also a possibility...

okay i have been on vacation and had some time to think the only thing i changed was blades and collective range.i know i have way to much collective and im going to tune it down but could it having to much pitch be bogging it just enough to let the tail go.you can hear the motor bog if you nail it.

Yes, collective bogging can kill tail authority if it slows it down enough.

For sure it will, you are putting tons of torque on the aircraft and slowing the speed of the tail so at full main pitch which is high and full tail pitch which is max can't give enough pitch to counter torque...

well it didnt seem to be noticable bog when the tail was letting go but i lowered my pitch range just a minute ago.so i will go fly it this evening to see if my hunch was correct.i will let you all know what the outcome is.
