When I was running the mp5 my needles were 2 turns out on the high and the low was 1/4 turn richer than flush

i dont like the term flush with this engine as that can mean almost half turn of play in the needle. ill try those settings and see where its at

I am running 3 1/4 turns from fully closed on the low speed and 1 3/4 on the high. I have not touched the 3rd needle under the throttle arm. These settings are with Wildcat CY30% and 2100 on the head with 8.5 ratio and the MP5.Power is impressive with these settings.
HUmidity is high around here this time of year and settings are working well. outside temps in the 80-90 range.
Hope this helps

my low needle from full in to flush is only 2 turns. ill go with badraptors settings and try that. i just want a close setting. im not into hard 3d. just tictocs and pattern type flying so crazy power is not needed. how many tanks did you burn before you seen this motors power kick in. itll barley pull the heli around at factory settings now. but ive only got 2 tanks on it. its a nice running motor though

well its running smooth and reliable. but it wont pull any pitch without bogging bad. its getting better every tank. hope it comes alive soon as i really wanna play with this motor. this is my first time on %30 fuel and it stays cooler. i might like this setup!

Hey Nappyroots, have you done any adjustments to the third needle under the throttle arm? If not that made a huge difference on mine and the motor was easier to tune in. My third needle was at 1 7/8 turns out then I turned it to 2 1/4 turns out from closed and started making improvements from there. My idle needle is a 1/4 turn rich from flush and high needle is about two turns out (within a click or two). I am also running about 2150 for headspeed.

i dont know what 3rd needle you guys are talking about. all my motor has is the screw to hold the barrel in. is there a new and old version of this motor. or pics of this needle?

You do not have to remove the barrel screw. If you remove just the throttle arm (horn your servo connects to) on the carb with a 3mm allen driver you will see what is referred to in your Redline manual as part #j (mixing metering screw) down inside. You will have to use a small standard screwdriver to turn it, but before you turn the screw in to count how many turns you were out make sure your throttle barrel is fully open so you don't screw up the low end end needle. That screw is recommended to be at 2 1/8 to 2 1/4 turns out from factory.

well i tried all the factory settings today on all 3 needles. it was so rich i would not start at all unless i pinched the fuel line till it started. now my needles are messed up and have to get it running nice again. ill go flush on low, 2 out on mid and i start a 2 out an high.dont know why it was so rich but ill figure it out
