I'll order a BEC but I think I'll try putting in a dedicated reciever battery just this week to test to see if that is actually my problem or not.
If it does not fix it, I'll put the esky reciever back in it and then go from there to eliminate what the issue is (reciever electronics or servo)

Since just hovering exhibited the problem, I should be able to run a couple packs through it and see it again.

That will make the heli heavy and make the servo load worse so if it works that will be a good test. But the ESC/BEC thing sucks get you a seperate BEC regardless and move on. The cheaper ESC/BEC Combo things can not run 11.1V and 4 servos. I did it for quite a while my servos eventually all got twitchy and one day it just died and dropped in from a foot off the ground thank goodness.

Yes, Tryan02, this will only be for a test so I can determine what I need to do before I go on vacation (if I need to send the Spektrum system in for example)
I'm ordering a BEC for sure.

I'll be able to try this out before I shoot off for vacation.

the few people ive talked have had the rx pull too much current for the built in bec to keep up and a external bec was the solution. id still but this product reguardless of the current draw issue its good to know that the rx is using a bunch of power to try to maintain good connectivity, just thoughts.

I wish I was good at this

Ragtop weve talked to the manufacturers the RX is nothing yes its a bit more than 72MHZ. But servos under load are spiking the current. Your heli just gets jittery till the Bec linear regulators give out. they are doing nothing but overheating the ESC. you put 11.1v into the BEC for starters your radio gear runs on 5v thats 6V that the BEC has to regulate AKA burn off as heat stressing it from the start getting it hot only derates its current capabilities. I know this one from experience I can showyou my ELE30amp ESC/BEC I have it in a box with dead regulators. The thing to do is get a UBEC also called a switching regulator this only samples 5v from the 11.1v lipo by switching on and off at a high rate making it very efficient. It doesnt waste the 6v the combo has to.

Castle Creations 10A BEC came in last night and installed.
1 pack through the heli this morning and NO jerking. I had about 10mph of wind so it was bobbing up and down from wind gusts like a buoy in the ocean. After first installing the Spektrum AR6100 RX, I had 4 consecutive flights where the heli jerked left or right during hover in the first 2 minutes. So since I went 8 minutes of solid cyclic stability, I think the issue is solved. At least solved to the point of moving on and finishing setting up my curves into the radio.

Thx guys!

I also found out last night that the reason it did not get off the ground w/ the nicd pack on the battery hookup was because I cut the wrong wire! I accidently cut the wire to the elevator and not the ESC power wire to the Rx. I did not remember that the AR6100 has the throttle next to the Batt connection and not 1,2,3..6 like my other RXs.

Anyway, so far so good. I left the CC10 at the default 5.1V.

Yep been runnin my CC10 with default setup since February. Causeit would have sudden jerks left or right.

Glad to hear you flying with confidence and caught it before it quit and sent your heli tumbling. I hear some of those spektrum receivers dont handle brownouts or blackouts to well.

Had the heli on the test stand yesterday to test the new composite blades. Turns out my rear left swash servo is bad. It was moving all on its own. I could see it jerking sometimes as I had the heli running up to speed. Replaced it w/ another micro servo temporarily and it was fine.
