Miniature Aircraft Nitro/Gas Helicopters > Washout bolt issue with bearings

I have an issue inserting the bolt into the washout arms bearings. The darn things stop with about a 1/8 inch gap till hitting the head of the bottom of the bolt. Is this by design or should that bearing get right up on the bottom of the bolt head? This is on a Bobby watts Stratus kit.

The back of the head of the bolt should snug up against the bearing...there should not be a 1/8" gap. Is the bolt binding in the bearings or is the screw bottoming out in the plastic washout block?

Check for any burs I guess on the bolts. (Do both do this?)

Mine is not BW but the head is the same.

Both do it, The bolt is 2.97 when the threads stop and 3.05mm at the bottom of the head when it stops. Tapered by design?

Hmm, very interesting. I don't think that's normal! Can you take some 600-grit to it?

no its not normal, but about a minute in a drill with a small jewelers file took off about .007mm and the bolts slip into the bearings fine now. I had to do the same with the bolt on the tail arm as well.

Must have been a bad batch of bolts...is the rest of the build about done? (and going well?)
