heli_headcase Key Veteran Location: Hovering around Atlanta
| Hi D.W.,
My blades are original. They're slightly warped up, as if they're permanently coned.
If your blades aren't physically damaged in some way, you can try bracing them at the ends and adding weight in the center to reverse the bowing, add some extra heat to speed up the process. If covered with Monokote or some material other than paint, try stripping the wood and using steam to help persuade the blades straight.
Will you be coming to IRCHA this year? Bring that Shark along with you. It will be a welcome addition to the vintage gathering of heli's there. My Hughes was going to go but as the result of damage while painting the frame structure, I may not have time to fix it properly.
