I have a OS Hyper 50 Engine and just purchased a governor.
I’m getting it all set up and starting to adjust the atv / rpm adjustments on the transmitter but uncertain to what I should set the rpm at.
The governor says it can go from 10,500-21,000rpm. Is there a specific setting for this engine, or is it all preference, and or can I hurt my engine by setting it wrong?
Any and all help on this matter appreciated and thank you for your advice and comments in advance.

Run around 17k, you have to know the gear ratio of your model, what helicopter?

Thats around 2000rpm on most 50 helis give or take depending on the gearing

Birdsofpray--
Like Barracuda said, Go for the 17,000 mark and if you have one available to you use a Optitach to check the headspeed..
You should be around 2000...
What gear you got on the Hirobo??

Good luck

EVO is 8.7 so 17k is going to give you 1950 on the head which is fine.

Oh yes. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was asking the same question. To get the most out of your heli and within its powerband, I can understand the recommendations. But its really personal preference for an average Joe like myself. Experiment with different RPMs. Fly at what your comfortable with. A screaming 50 can be intimidating at first.
