Engines Plugs Mufflers Fuel > Raptor 50 Muffler screws too short...

I am working on putting together my Raptor 50 kit and was trying to put the muffler on last night when I realized the screws were too short!

Let me make sure I am doing this right. I inserted them through the holes on the opposite side of the muffler and I presume they are supposed to be long anough to go all the way through and then attach to the muffler on the other side? The screws that came in the kit don't even make all the way through the engine.

So then I thought maybe the screws were supposed to start through the muffler and then go into the engine but the holes in the engine are not threaded to be able to accept a screw. So I think I was doing it correctly the first time.

Has anyone else run into this problem before? I called Heliproz where I bought the kit and the lady said that's how they come and told me I would need to get longer screws. That is just weird to me that the right screws would not be included in the kit. I guess I'll just make a trip to Lowe's and get some longer screws.

Let me know if anyone has had this problem before.

Thanks,

Brooks

Yes and get locknuts....

Shaggy,
Had a smilar problem with mine.
Make sure you get screws long enough for lock nuts on the backside.
Otherwise you will work the holes out of round on the muffler over time due to the vibration. OR you will be tightening them every flight (pain in the butt IMHO). Locktite won't hold due to the heat.

Yep, same problem.
You need to drill the engine and exhaust out to accept 4mm bolts. Get a long 4mm bolt that will go through the engine & exhaust, and use locknuts.
By the way, the TT46/50 muffler will restrict the TT50 (or OS50) way too much, so get a 60 size muffler ASAP (the engine will run nicely, but will produce NO power otherwise!)
Cheers from NZ!
