Woo Hoooo - I can definately say that 90s auto a hell of a lot better than 50s!!!

I had just completed a fuel check and I was actually going up for an auto when it ran out of fuel. Since I was climbing hard, the heli lost a lot of energy, and I mean right now!

As usual it took my slow brain a second or two to figure out was going on. I turned her around, and what caught my attention was how slow the blades were going! I think you could practically count the rotations - Yikes! Then the next thing seemed wierd too. I pulled down on the collective to get her comming down and get the headspeed back up, but she seemed to float there a few seconds. That was freaking wierd!

Then she started comming down and at first I was going to put her down right away, but she had so much energy I brought her over to me where I would normally touch her down.

Mandy was there, but she couldn't see all the crap that was going on up high because the tree at Apollo Field was blocking her view. She just thought I was completing a standard auto. In fact, she said the end was one of my best looking autos! If only she could check my heart rate, I think it was up there with the heli's headspeed!

I am REALLY liking the way 90s auto!! Woo Hoooooooo!

I got a helicopter for my girlfriend,
It was a good trade!

glad you saved her. Yes, autos with a 90 are highly addictive. Nothing like floating down and hovering for a few seconds before gently setting down.

Let your flying do the talking - don't talk about your flying

My first forced auto with my new 700N...

Of course you're right. I've had my share. I remember one of the very first flights on the Xtreme ended in a forced auto. Had to replace a few parts after that one! Only thing I had to replace today was my shorts! Muahahahahahaha!

I bet it would be easier to auto if the canopy was bigger!

Rock:

Great post, I'm still waiting for second batch of 700N' so that I can get some of the excitement, that's been reported over this new T-rex.
Currently flying V-bared 600N, and it surely delivers, but a 90-size is always a 90-size. Have been flying R90/V-max, am flying Stratus currently, but still want the new big T-rex
