| A few things here from my perspective:
- Anything more than 2000.00 on RR, it seems that more than 1/2 of the viewers are turned away immediately.
- Scale takes into consideration the builders modeling skills; which is a huge unknown from a posted photo online. Whereas a pod & boom is a mechanical setup issue. Most people who are into scale are perfectionists and are hesitant with other peoples work.
- Many of the scale enthusiasts like scale for the actual process of modeling. Buying something already completed is a turn-off.
- Buying a completed model disqualifies (some CD's may still allow you to compete, but most wouldn't) the ability for competing at AMA Scale events (Nats, Ircha, etc).
Scale ships remind me of my racecar days. It is very rare that you get back out what you put in from modifying the car. The reasons are simular.
In looking at your price, you are asking for $800.00 - $1000.00 less (some would consider the value even lower, based on their own skills of craftmanship, resources, etc) on a used machine when comparing to a brand new unassmebled product. While I won't specifically comment on what you should price it at, I can just tell you my opinion of my buying practices: It has to be a heck of a deal for me to consider a helicopter product that is not new, something that is not easily deconstructed for my quality control standards, or something that fits my vision of detail or paint schemes.
Finally, I think you are killing most of your potential buyers by making them inquire with you to even see the elementary items that may or may not peek their interest. How do you solve this? Post many, many, many pictures. I know you state you have pictures in your gallery, but when I clicked on your post (before you asked the question in here), I immediately stopped reading when I didn't see any pictures.
When I am in a buying mood and looking in the realm of a product that I want, I find myself looking at them non-stop until I make the purchase.
Good luck, Mike |
