I have a Venture 50 I bought brand new from someone that had it shipped from Japan. This is the version that only comes with Japanese instructions. This was not an issue since this is the ARF version.

The OS 50 that came with it has peformed flawlessly, it started right up and has given me no problems although it does not seem to be producing the power I was expecting. I have carbon 600 ZigSaw blades and have replaced the stock flybar and paddles.

The performance I have experienced so far with this heli/engine combination has been dissapointing. Maybe the engine is not completely broken in yet and will become more powerful but this thing is a dog. It seems like the engine is not powerful enough to produce the rotor speed necessary to do the kind of flying I am used to with my Raptor 30's. Large, round loops are not possible. Rolls seem to take forever. I have the pitch set up to the usual +9 -9.

I am using 30% Magnum and am running the engine at about 200 to 215 degrees on the Venom temp gage. I have about 30 tanks of fuel through it so far.

Does anyone else have this setup? How is the performance?

Pete,

You should have plenty of power there, even with the standard muffler. Mine flies like a home sick angel. Look for any blockages in the fuel line, or any drawing of air. The standard muffler will restrict the engine, but even so mine easily copes with a lot of 3D work. Could be the engine just isn't run in yet. I'm running mine on 16% and have yet to run out of power. The OS50 is probably the most powerful 50 engine there is about... something must be a miss somewhere on your model.

I have a Venture 50 with the Curtis Muscle pipe and it has loads of power. What muffler are you using? The OS50 loves lots of volume so if it's restricted it will have limited power.

Hi,

If all else fails,. try a cooling shroud extension. This made quite a difference in my Venture .30. Good luck.
