Just a curiosity question. Why does the Aurora have the pin/set screw serup instead of the normal jesus bolt holding the main gear on?

Pins are stronger.

Agusto says the pin is soft, and the screw that tightens against it is hard.

You are right but when I said that we were talking about the tailgear pins this is a different pin.

The pin in the main shaft is much stronger than a jesus bolt. We broke a few jesus bolt during testing.

I think a pin in the mainshaft is a good idea due to the fact that the threads wear down creating slop and are more prone to stress breaking versus a solid pin with no cut aways! Plus it is easier to get in and out imo!

I like the pin...

But IMPO it is DEFINITELY not easier to get in/out.

I don't mind the pin either. I just wish they would have gone with a setup similar to the Synergy head pin and had the set screw insert from the side instead of the bottom.
