Do you find slop when you grab the heli by the head and pull up?

I've got it on mine.

The shims provided in the kit it too thick to add (main shaft) to take up the slop.

????

Thanks

I didnt have any till i maidened her yesterday. Now i have some that i need to fix.
I know of another that needed to dremel sand his shim to get it to fit, but now has a bunch of flights on it with it staying tight.

I was told to fly it even with the slop for one flight then, add the shim.

A little awkward unless, it won't hurt anything.

Just loosen your bearing blocks and install the thinnest shim and re-tighten your bearing blocks. It won't preload the bearings. After a few flights everything will settle right in.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

But, the freakin thinnest shim is too thick.

I don't want to be Align's machine shop .

Yea, it does seem too think but if you loosen your bearing blocks and then install the shim and jesus bolt and then re-tighten your bearing blocks it will fit fine (at least it did in my case as I thought it was too thick as well until I did this).

Just wanted to add something to this about the shims since i just built mine last nite.

Take the thinnest shim. Use a reamer to SLIGHTLY enlargen the inner diameter of the shim itself. Then put it on the main shaft and make sure its seat flush against the raised portion in the middle of the mainshaft. When it seats flush, everything goes together perfectly. By enlarging the ID slightly of the shim, this allows you a piece which can be used repeatedly thru crashes whereas if you do any mods to the main shaft itself, you will have to do it everytime you crash.

Just my .02
