I just got back from the nats and just wanted to let everybody know what a GREAT time i had there this year. We had 25 entrants total but even with the low turnout a great time was had by all. I feel sorry for those that thought about going and just didnt. The best part for me was watching the FAI guys fly the schedule C maneuvers. I can only imagine the time and effort it took to get those maneuvers down pat.

With the small turnout, all the classes flew from the same flight station. I was great to spend time talking with all the FAI pilots because I always come away from there with new ideas and info that will make me a better pilot in the future.

I also want to extend a HUGE!!!!!! THANK YOU !!!! to Craig Bradley (our CD), Tom Johnson (our best ever flight line coordinator ), our seated judges, Dave Sellers , Kevin Kordell and Paul Giles and of course the AMA staff for all there efforts on our part to hold the event at our national flying site.

Also a special THANK YOU to (ED) Peter Wales and his staff down at the scale line for a great scale event. Len Mounts scout was just unbelievable to see and hear fly. A great picture of the whole scale group is posted in the sat july 19 nats news on the AMA website.

I really cant express the great pleasure it was to fly at the nats this year and really want anybody with interest in precision flying to check it out and at least consider coming to one of the many events during the year that are put on by many the the same pilots that fly in this event. Even if you are only into 3D a little precision flying will do wonders to make you an even better pilot.

Great Time!

I had more fun at this years NATs than any funfly I have ever attended. The guys were great, the weather was perfect, and I didn't zero a single maneuver all week. I only wish other guys would give this a try and find out how much fun it actually is. Thanks to our illustrious judges, Paul, Kevin, and Dave, and the outstanding CD, Craig.

Who said the FAI guys had the schedule C maneauvers down pat?
Was exciting, glad I retired when I did, although just farting around they are kinda fun to do when no ones looking.

My special thanks to Paul, Dave, Kevin, Craig and Tom. The US team for the World Championships was selected and we are in very good hands. Thanks to them for all their effort and professionalism. A great deal of practice was put in by all who came and every model was outstanding. A good time was had by all. By all means if you have any interest at all, come join us and see what it's all about. You'll be very impressed.

Thanks for the reminder Doug!! I did fail to mention that the world championship team has been selected. The nats this year determined the team members.
This years team members are as follows. Curtis Youngblood, Wayne Mann and Dwight Shilling with the alternates being Cliff Hiatt and Gordie Meade!!!!!!!!! contrats to all of you!!!
The world championships are to be held in aug of 09 at out national flying site in Muncie and will end just prior to the IRCHA jamboree. I hope all those that plan to come to the jamboree can come a few days early to cheer on OUR TEAM so make plans now to attend.
Again Congrats to All of the team members and let me say how proud I am that you all will be representing US next year. GOOD LUCK!!!! Tom
