Hi all!
Today as I switched on my receiver in correct sequence with trans.
(9Z-WC2) on channel 21 I got no response. I switched off and on,unplugged the battery, bypassed the switch,Nothing, nothing at all.
Seems a visitor to our country from Europe brought along his 35mghz. rig, When it was operating with a 2.4gig. trans turned on I went to failsafe for the duration of his flight.
I never had problems with 2.4.

Locked out!

Transmitter module is synthesized frequency and receiver is crystal tuned.
The lockout went away just seconds after the 35 meg. trans. was switched off.

I'm unclear about this, was it just a guy running at 35 MHz?

I'm just wondering about "Seems a visitor to our country from Europe brought along his 35mghz. rig, When it was operating with a 2.4gig. trans turned on I went to failsafe for the duration of his flight."

So was the guy from europe using 35 MHz or 2.4 GHz? (or is it a different guy?)

I agree with Thomas L - 35 MHz or 2.4 GHz shouldn't do anything to you, unless his radio is seriously screwed up and transmitting over a much wider band than it should be.

That being said, 35 MHz, while fine in the visitor's home country, is not legal to use in the USA. That frequency range is allocated for other uses by the FCC - including one that is for "special emergency use".

So....... switching to Futaba after you "lost 4 JR radios in 2 months" has done nothing to cure your transmitter ailments ???

Locked out!

To answer your question about the 2.4 gig. trasmitter,I asked the owner to switch it on and off while the 35 mghz. rig was on and it made no difference in the lock out condition. I mentioned the 2.4 gig radio so you would have all the facts.
When the 35 mghz. rig was turned off the lockout condition released after a few seconds as would be expected.
It should be noted that it is not legal to operate R/C devices on 35 mghz in the U.S.A.
The four JR radios I have had problems with remain Junk. I am getting rid of the remaining six before they die in flight!
The guy from europe was using 35 mghz. A fellow club member was operating at 2.4 mhz.
As for why the visitor was using 35 mghz you would have to ask him.

Locked out!

In response to Juans question, I bought two 9-Zs When they first came out because they offered more features than the 10x.
As far as I am concerned the 9-Z did what it was supposed to by locking out.
Regarding the JR radios,Three are just dead at the transmitter and one the servos jump like crazy as soon as the transmitter is turned on. The problem originates from the transmitter.

If the 35 Mhz was locking out a 72 Mhz band receiver, it could be a 2nd harmonic due to the 35 Mhz transmitter being overpowered and/or badly tuned. If you know his exact freq he is transmitting on, double it, and it is very close to your 75 mhz channel freq, then you will know.

EDIT:
Your channel 21 is 72.210 mhz, so if he was transmitting on 36.105 mhz or close to it, it could be 2nd harmonic interference.

Support bacteria. They're the only culture some people have. !
