| Hello all:
Personally, if I were looking for specific parts and the hobby shop was within a reasonable distance of my locale, I would much rather drive to the shop. However, I understand that several variables could affect one's decision if given the choices of driving to the shop or using the internet to order parts. With today's focus on convenience mixed with the ever-advancing field of technology, the small shop almost has to offer the store-front and the internet option to barely stay above water.
Some other "potential" factors that may come up could include (but are not limited to) the following: -How far will your nearest competitor be in regards to your location -What products do you plan to stock -How would you rate your aptitude of the products you plan to stock -Are you sufficient in building, setup, maintenance, instruction... -What helicopters are your target consumers flying -Will you be able to offer your consumers enough value -And last but certainly not least... MONEY, MONEY, MONEY $$$
I'm a bit old-fashioned and I really believe in the small shops over the "Mega-Lo Mart" internet based mega shops. There's a lot to be said for good customer service and the most of the smaller shops excel in that arena. Good luck to you in your future ventures and I wish you all well.
