Dear Ryder,

I want to build Beam E4. Please help me to chose a Motor & ESC. I have 2 Option first is Align V2 Motor & ESC or Scorpion 2221-6 With 45A ESC.

People say that 2221-8 work best with 55A ESC, but if I read the Motor Spec, requirement for Max Continuous Current only 45A, thats mean that 45A Scorpion ESC is enough.

Please if there have other option for me to use.

FYI I prefer longer flight..

Thank You.

Best Regards,

I'd go for a scorpion motor. The -6 is more for crazy 3d and the -8 is more for sport flying and mild/moderate 3d, IMO. The -6 should be run on a 55A esc where as the -8 can be run on a 40A (Kontronik 40-6-18... my favorite!) or 45A esc.

If you are looking for longer flight times then I would go with the Align 430XL or the -8

I would recommend the scorpion -8, they are great motors. the -6 is super strong but I get so short of flight time before the battery starts to heat up.

With the -8 get the 45A, my friend says the -6 is too fast and can do crazy 3d with a -8. so it depends on your flyin style

I will build your heli for free.

Mmm... from the replay above, Scorpion -8 with 45A will be my choice.

Now People said that -8 motor are faster than Align v2 motor... how about the pinion and blade.

I reconsider 325 or 335 Main Blade with 11 pinion, since 10 pinion is hard to find in Jakarta.

which one is best 10T or 11T to reduce scorpion "Excessive" Power

Thank's

I use the Scorp 2221-8 with a 13t pinion. I tried an 11, and a 12t pinion. Both will work but, I wouldn't step it down any further than 11t. You may see some improvement in flight time with the 11 as opposed to the 13t. It also depends on how fresh your batteries are. I just picked up a couple 3s 33c 2200's from Performance Plus RC. http://performanceplusrc.com/33c_lipos These packs use the same cells as Outrage and Desire lipos. Stunning! Much more power, no bog!

terrabit, were your other batteries getting tired and not holding full voltage?

Can you check the Internal Resistance of your old packs and new packs. I have baseline graphs on my packs to see how well they age.It will be interesting to see how different brands compare.

How much are the new packs, if you dont mind me asking?
Thanks,

Jimmy

Battries... New Battries...

For Me... Good batteries are batteries that have high discharge rate... and batteries Balance after long Use.

High Discharge rate is to supply "Monster" Motor that can draw lots of Amp (not mAh). if the motor draw 45Amp (max Amp) thats mean the batteries discharge have, bout the same.

With that we have a long life batteries smooth flying bird....

Thank's
