I'm not going to hold my breath. It might take longer for the new heli. I have two Stratuses. They fly better than anything else.
When the new heli comes out, then we will have another discussion. Enjoy the stratus.

Just do it.

The stratus is a great heil. Purely up to You but don't jump too soon.

I have been reading about the 50 for more than a year now, there is nothing wrong with the stratus, MA will make a convertion kit as they allways do, i will convert one of my stratuss when the new 90 comes so no worry

If you aint crashing you aint flyin

i would keep and fly both. you'll lose too much money trying to offload even brand new stratuses (stratii?). maybe in the future, if/when you crash one, convert it to the new MA 90, then you'll have one of both!

good luck

I agree with the rest, keep the Stratus. Enjoy it while you have it.

The conversion kit will probably only consist of new frames and bell cranks.

Buy what you can fly now and don't worry about what is coming. It's all about time on the sticks and in the air. Don't worry about the latest and greatest.

Take it from experience fly what you can buy now. Because if you wait for something it is like waiting for the next generation of computers to come out. You will never fly

Rumour has it that the head will be the same as the current Stratus head - as the prototype BW flew at XFC was only 2-3 weeks I'd bet it would be 12-18 months before we see the retail version.

This is from Nick Maxwell, who also flew the new 90 MA at XFC:

I guess I can post on here.
I have been flying the model and can't say enough good things about it!
The head and tail system are the same as the Stratus/Ion X2. The difference is in the center main mechanics.
At XFC our models were very commonly confused as the 50. They are very similar in flight characharistics and over all design. This has truley been a "fuel and fly" heli. SUPER easy to work on/maintain and most of all, a joy to fly!

Student; I have just coverted my two thrusty Stratusses to the BW Stratus / High rotia Stratus.
And I love them even more now

If you want the newest always, you can wait forever
There will allways come something new tomorrow

IMHO you'd be crazy to pass up on your Stratus - a proven design and at the pinnacle of heli model engineering. MA have to produce a cost effective (to buy AND manufacture) 90 to stay in the arena with the arrival of the T700 - that means reducing parts count - read simpler and easier build. It has to have some selling qualities (cheaper to manufacture and buy not gonna cut it) so you gonna get some changes in design with claims for lighter, faster, more agile .... I don't think it's gonna be better than your Strat though despite the positive reviews of factory sponsored pilots.
