Hi, can you guys post your gy401 settings, throttle curve and pitch curves for preferably the scorpion -6 and 55a?

my tail will hold solid going one way but the other way i can see it bounce a little bit.

in normal mode i am running -2 - +6 - +11 linear 0-25-50-75-100 throttle curve with the scorpion -6 & 55a

gy401 + 9650 gain set at 37

Odd you got a bounce. Try setting up your 401 in rate mode. That should help it get a killer lock in feel once in HH mode.

Rate mode is HH off and will drift. Basically, you set your tx setting to to the HH is turned off by lowering your sensitivity, making the HH light on the gyro turn off.

Then, you hover your heli, and find out which way your tail is drifting. Then you adjust the servo mount until you get no drift under rate mode.

Then, turn up your sensitivity on your tx setting for the gyro getting back into HH mode, and your bounce should be gone.

I'm not familiar with that radio but .... The gain lead (one wire) from your gyro is plugged into your receiver through either the gear channel or Aux 2 channel, usually. Both of those channels (and all others) have programable travel limmits or end point adjustment settings in the radio. My radio, a JR X9303, is 1-100 left or up, and 1-100 right or down. The adjustment range for the GY401 is 1-100. 49 and below is Rate Mode, 51 and above is Heading Hold. So, 1-100 left in your radio coresponds to 49 and below while 1-100 right coresponds to Heading hold. So a gain setting of 50 right in your radio would equate to 75 (Heading Hold) in your gyro. A gain setting of 50 left in your radio wold give you a Rate Mode setting of 25 in your gyro.

I hope that make sense.

If you set the T-curve to a flat 100% with the Scorp 2221-6 you'd better be ready to roll. It will flat out rip! I recomend starting lower and building your comfort level in incriments of 5% until it feels good. My 2221-8 will hit 3400 rpm at less than 100%. Better yet, figure out what headspeed you want and use a tach.

Quit using normal mode ASAP. Normal mode is great for learning to hover or if you don't have a soft-start option in your ESC. Otherwise, you can do everything in Idle 1 or 2 that you can do in Normal. The sooner you quit using Normal, the less likely you will be to find yourself inverted without negative pitch. Been there, did that.

PS: Your normal t-curve should NOT be linear(0-25-50-75-100). You'll want it to be flat once the bird is in the air or midstick. Something like 0-68-80-80-80 would be apropos.

I got 3400 with a 13t pinion and less than 100% t-curve. I believe that was primarily a product of new Performance Plus RC lipos which use the new 33c Desire Power cells. I do NOT get that headspeed with Flight Power lipos. I get 3100 at 72% with these cells. My FP's need 100% to get that headspeed. I have resorted to using Idle 1 for the PPRC, and Idle 2 for the FP's.

Which CF blades did you choose? I dont really have the skills to take advantage of high performance blades yet and may never have them, but I would like to get a good set just in case

I wonder how much head speed the carbon rod reinforced fiberglass stock purple/white blades are rated for? Anybody know?
Thanks,

Jimmy
