Avant Aurora - EFX - FX > Tail Kicking?

Hi all,
What is the main culprit to look for with a tail kicking and jerking?
Using a Spartan gyro with a 20mm ball on 8900g, Gyro attached with one strip of servo tape no metal plate.
Ys91sr with carb smart tuned at 110 degc,
I have tried different gain settings on the tail no change.
I can see the servo on the tail moving back and forth in rapid jerky movements. Any ideas I should try?

have a look at your linkage to see if it is smooth and not catching which will load you your servo.
just un clip the ball link at the servo end and move it by hand to see.

This is one of the more common heli problems, and can be attributed to so many different things...

-Is it a left kick?

-Is it a right kick?

-Does it kick on high collective?

-Does it kick randomly?

-Does it kick in forward flight?

-Are your tail support rods firmly in place and is the tail clamp locked in place? (check for any movement)

-Is the engine broken in, tuned and running smooth?

-Have you blue flamed all of the tail links and/or lightly squeezed the ball links with pliers to ensure smooth movement?

-Do you have full travel on the tail pitch slider?

-Is the slider smooth as glass?

-Is the the whole tail assembly shimmed correctly preventing unwanted backlash on the gears?

-Is your tails servo on its way out (although I assume it's probably new?).

-The gyro metal plate (as with the 611) not only helps with interference but also helps to dampen the effect of vibrations, you could try that.

To every action there is always opposed an equal reaction

Kicks both directions back and forth with about 30mm to 50mm each side of centre.
Kicks constantly more noticable in the hover.
Have noticed what might be excessive gear noise when heli side on to me right side, although could be engine bearing.
All other details are checked and covered.
I will take the tail servo and gyro off my 700 to try, then I guess an engine swap.
Grumble Grumble, was trying to aviod that.

A single strip of servo tape might not be enough.

I've gotten best results using the recommended mounting method, thin tape - metal plate - thick tape as shown below.

A few more questions...
- How much gain are you running?
- How many flights on that servo?
- What voltage are you running the gyro and servo at?

Sorted it out,
same as Bob00, thick pad, metal plate, thin pad then gyro.
Bang and the dirt is gone!
But only got to fly it once as some dust must have got in the carb which has stuffed my piston!!
I have defo been cursed by some one, ( should have bought that daisy of the gypsy LOL)
I touched Marcus Kim's Avant at the masters so hopefully I have passed on the curse. Sorry Marcus
