Due to recent noise complaints from near by home owners north field is in question by city officials.
Anyone know whether or not this is true or know any details????

Doesn't matter who was there first......... All it takes is one complaint and it's over. Way back in the early seventies I was a "Bird" member in the city of Carson. The city gave us a ribbon cutting ceremony to welcome us to our new field. Year or so later, due to noise complaints, all was gone. So Sad!

Willie McCool Airpark in North Las Vegas was moved once before from about 5 miles SE of where it is now to make room for more homes. It used to be on Ann near Commerce, and was built I believe by Bill Bennett, who later built Bennett Field near the Silverbowl Stadium in East Las Vegas.

I don't know what municipal codes apply, but I'd fight a strong hard fight to keep it there if you love flying there. Call the North Las Vegas City Council.

What do the other club members there say about this?

voters can trump anything.

only "possible" defense would be to take a decibel reading outside flying area and compare to average "local" noise.

unfortunately a nuisance to anyone is still a nuisance complaint.

the other question to ponder is...what if they were electrics?

would it still be an issue?
