Century Hawk - Falcon - Raven - Predator > Kinetic 50 to Raven Conversion

Has anyone made a Kinetic 50 into a Raven?
I am in the proses of trying. I got a good deal on a Kinetic 50 and have allot of parts left over from my Raven crash so I thought it would make a cheap conversion.

the Kinetic is basicaly the same as the Hawk

I did it with a Hawk pro to Raven30 conversion

I don't know if the kinetic comes with a constant tail drive
but other than changing the mccpm to a eccpm putting the metal gears on the tail add a 53t grey speed up gear you won't have any problems doing the conversion.

Is it worth switching from mccpm to eccpm ?
thats a matter of personal choice but in the event of a crash you are less likely to hurt your servos with a mccpm system.
the eccpm system if you scrap 1 servo it will cost you 3 servos because they are suppose to be the same age to avoid swash interactions.

this was a Hawkpro at one time

I got the Used Kinetic 50 and went to work. I proceeded to strip off all the unneeded parts and reassemble with the left over correct Raven parts. Its not complete yet because I need Blades and some small stuff like fuel filters and such, order on the way.

Only missing parts I must have lost.

after closely looking at pics

what is holding your gyro plate in place ?

is it now or was a constant tail drive ?

if so and you are using a .50 I recommend getting the grey speed up gear and the pinion on the intermediate shaft should be a 14t

I have some thick DuBro servo arms on order with my RotoTech blades coming. The gyro and the metal plate is being held by 3M double sticky tape. I left the drive shaft components alone but I need to check that. The Kinetic was a 50 size anyway so I left the gearing alone. But I am thinking of the speed up gear.

Upon further investigation thanks to Blade_Master1, I will be changing it over to the constant tail drive that I have sitting in a box. And I ended up screwing down that gyro plate. Thanks Blade_Master1.

All done. I added 610mm Rotor Tech Main Blades, better servo arms, 3200MaH battery. I used a plank landing gear holder for the Header Tank.

Looking Good

The 3200mah battery if it is a NIMH get rid of it
Only use nicad or lipo with REG for your heli

nimh don't have a C rating high enough for Heli's

Just ask Eeeky he lost his because of a nimh pack

After looking a little closer at your heli
your header tank clunk line looks to be to long
it may catch an air buble while looping
recheck it looks almost 10 mm too long

The batteries are from my E-Max truck that I made into Rx packs. I haven't had any trouble with them at all except when one of my solder to the battery cam loose, but I caught it in time. You have a good eye but the hedder tank clunk does move top to bottom but thanks for looking out for me

P.S. I could a better canopy

how many brass washer are you running between the constant tail drive gear and the bearings i have 2 and think there is a couple mm play is that ok

also my head speed seems to be way to high its well over 2200 with just the constant tail kit does this seem right

I just switched mine over from my old Raven but the instructions show 2 spacers. One set for the under the bearings and one set for on top of the bearings

I have not flown my Heli yet but when it was a Raven I could not go to 100% on the throttle curve, it was way to fast. Then I just used a Gov. I have purchased a MultiGov but I am waiting for the Spectrum sensor so I don't have to mess with magnets
