| It really depends on the parts (as in spare parts) being repaired. I once had my 9254 servo repaired... and really, it didn't seem to be all that totalled (movement was rough), but the repairs cost me about half of a new servo. I wasn't happy, since the servo was less than a year old.
My friend, OTOH, had a faulty transmitter module (only a small fault, the module wouldn't function if the batteries were too fresh off the charger). He tried getting a local repairman to repair it, but after months of trying it was never fixed properly. Then he got it repaired at Futaba, and it ended up costing only around $20, with S&H. It was around 3 years old.
My conclusion is that there really is no guideline. You also won't know the cost until Futaba tells you. |
