I currently am running futaba 9257 servos on the cyclic of my Trex 500, however I am thinking about changing to the JR's. Which ones would everyone recommend? I have also just thought about buying some of the 9650 metal gears and installing them into my 9257's. I am very interested in servos with metal gears versus plastic gears. Please help me with this decision.

That's what I would do. I have the metal gears ordered for my 9650s, tired of breaking plastic gears on every rough auto.

The JR z3650s are $75 each, versus $14-$18 each for the metal gear sets.

Not sure of anywhere else for those gears. I was charged $12 for EMS shipping from them to Las Vegas. Must be your location which is causing the extra cost.
