I have 2 V2's but would love to have a Beam. To pick one or the other will both have thier pros and cons. Better yet, wait for the RAVE!!!

I agree 100% I also have 2 450s and I do love them..
but the Beam is hot.. but the Rave... is just /droooool

I have a Rave preordered at my LHS.

A stretched 450 flying 340 blades stock... on 3S = Sexy not to mention the design is flat out sick.. and so polished gonna give both Align and Beam a run for their money.

I've flown both, in my humble opinion, the Beam is far and away the decisive winner. There is no question in my mind. The E4 is MUCH quicker on cyclic (tighter flips and rolls), lighter, far more precise, quieter. Far superior. All you have to do is look at the machine work. The head and tail are much tighter. This little heli is as or more stable than some 500's.

If you live in Seattle, RC Hobby Sports (rchobbysports.com), on Rainier Ave S, stocks the parts locally along with a full compliment of Protos, Synergy, Mikado, Century, Thunder Tiger, and Align products. They also do rc planes, cars, trucks, and boats. I love this little shop! They must have a half million dolars in inventory.

I liked the beam as well when I flew it, I been messing with my 450 but can't get it to perform the same as the beam I flew.

Who wants to wait for anything?As far as 325mm bladed helis go, get and fly a Beam right now and dont miss any fun. When the Rave is available, if it is better, get one of them if you like.

By the time you wait for one thing, you will hear about something else better that will be coming along...meanwhile you could be flying one of the best 325mm helis there is now. Im too old to wait!..Ill be flying my Beam.

Yes the Rave is very pretty no doubt about it. I have plans to get one to set beside my G5. Curtis is a great guy and makes great products!!

I've had a Trex 450se, MX400, Mini-Titan, and a
Gazaur 480 and the Beam E4 outflies them by far. Amazingly, the Beam E4 is very light, agile, and extremely stable.

I wouldn't mind trying the new Rave, but at $500 plus for a kit, its a little out of my league price wise right now.

Hi Vic.

Yes the Rave is $$$ but when the kits come without a motor as an option is going to be when I buy one. I'll buy a 6s setup for it.... I'm sure more 6s motors will hit the market soon.

I have high hopes for the Rave. If it is clearly a better offering Ill add one to the hanger more than likely. Waiting for a new, hopefully top of the line heli is no problem with something like the Beam in hand.It looks like the engineering for the Rave has been taken care of. It is possibly the logistics holding up the Realease. Fastener supply and quality is very important and arranging the parts in a sensible manner to ease confusion during construction all need to be properly addressed. Like many newly released products, it takes longer to complete the final 10% of the operation than it took to accomplish the initial 90% of the project.

I didnt think I was going to like the small 325mm bladed helis due to thier size but I seem to lose orientation just as often with the big helis too. Thankfully, the "feeling" passes quicker than it used to.I am having trouble accepting the speed that that my helis are easiest to fly at. Hopefully the skill I need to fly more confidently will come with practice and patience. I hope!

The rave is capable of doing hardcore 3d, but the question is, are YOU capable of it? Anything will fly nice in the hands of a good pilot.

Sorry but the T-rex 450 se v2 is just as good as the Beam if not better. I have owned both and while the Beam has some more advanced designing, the execution could have been better and you will find that the head and tail will only be "tight" for no more than 20 hard flights. I had a bearing that lost the outer race in use for some reason too.

Funny thing is that everyone says that a Beam is so light and mine weighed exactly the same as my v2 Rex with same exact electronics and setup. Not to mention only a 3mm spindle, questionable tail pitch lever and slider design (read the posts).

The Beam is nice but to all that consider, you really should look at WHO is posting what and how are they flying the machine? It seems to me that there are not many advanced or master level pilots flying the Beam?

I know of Justin Chi and Chris Harmon- Both great pilots but thats all I can think of.

If that was the case, then all those rex owners that are switching over to the beam swash and stuff like that on there rex will be mighty disapointed.

Check out Justin Chi's vids on youtube, he rocks his machine hard.

The reason I bought my heli is because my friend has one and he is a sponsored pilot, he rocks his machine hard.

The Beam is quicker on cyclic, more precise, quieter, and easier to work on. I believe the parts are less expensive as well. I have over 100 flights on mine. I've not encountered any other issues besides besides the "Pitch Lever Holder, part #E4-1405" (I started that thread). (The spindle does bend easily but, probably not a problem if if you don't auto)

I few the Trex SE V2 for 18 mos previous to previous to owning the Beam E4. I will just say that I am much happier with the E4.

PS: You won't find many "Masters" going on about helis in this class. They're flying larger birds.
