| When I installed my first sensor, I screwed up.
I installed it with the engine in the heli. I should have held it in place while it cured, but I noticed it sorta stayed in place, so I got lazy.
Well it didn't work, so I removed the engine and found out that since I had the heli on it's side, the sensor cured at an angle due to the wire hanging off the back. The sensor was not up against the combustion chamber at all, and there was no epoxy around the sensor.
So with the engine out, I tried a second sensor. I made sure the sensor was flush against the combustion chaamber. Then after it cured, I put some more epoxy around the sensor to make sure it had good thermal conductivity.
This one worked fine.
Also, make sure you are thinking the correct direction when you adjust the needle. Sometimes you might think you are going the right way, but you are doing it backwards. If the needle is hard over to the right, lean, and will not come off of lean, then remove the control lever, lean it a few clicks, and replace the control lever.
If it is hard over to the left in the rich position, this is bad. It is trying to richen it up and can't get it rich enough. You are too lean. Remove the control lever, richen it a few clicks, and return the control lever.
