I'm trying to set up a friends radio he just bought, DX7, and have following issue:
Power switch does not power down the radio, if its on off the DSC screen is on same as if the simulator cord would be plugged in.
So, I can can only switch between Regular transmisson ( on ) or DSC mode ( trainer )
Any Help would be appreciated.

Thanks Markus

Talked to Horizon after not finding anything wrong with the DSC jack
and was advsied that symptom is result of burnt Diode... have to send it back to Horizon, or can I change that myself ??( pretty good with soldering..)
Best regards

I would probably send it back just to be on the safe side. Fixing the innards yourself is a good way to invalidate your warranty... Would be lame if you managed to fix this, then 6 months from now something else broke that you needed to send it in for, and they refused to honor the warranty since you had replaced the diode yourself.

Had the same problem, Called Horizon, they said could be glass 1A fuse is blown, I could try replacing it. I wouldn't have thought a blown fuse would display anything?? Maybe it blew after I saw the display you described. I said no I'll send it back since it is new. They replaced the fuse and the Tone Encoder board ???.

Be very careful that you don't reconnect the Tx battery while the Tx switch is powered on, must be off. I understand that it can blow the fuse. If you replace it, it is easy to see but you must pull the top board near the antenna to see it. I'd call them first at least.
