JR Heli Vibe - Airskipper - Sylphide - Venture > Best Throttle servo with the ATG?

All comments welcome. I have heard different recomendations on this subject!

I am planning on 8915's for cycilic, Looks like a 9256 for Tail. Will be using the 10 amp scott ray regulator, ATG, Solid G, MP5, carb smart, and YS50. Of course Raddix SB's!

Take off's are always optional, but landings are MANDITORY!

Of course you could go to a MultiGov Pro and it will replace the ATG and the CarbSMart.

But I am trying to decide between going with an HS-81 or a JR DS3517 for the throttle servo.

While reasonably fast is good, the motor will only respond so fast, so a faster servo cold actually be trouble. And there is very light load and in most instances the servo is traveling through well less than full travel.

To be honest, I dont like multi-function devices, like Align 2 in 1 or the multi gov pro. I prefer 1 item controling 1 function. But thats just my preferance.

Get used to it, I think you're going to see more and more of it.

A super fast servo isnt trouble, but it doesn't do much good to go faster than .15 to .12 and honestly anything in the .2 works pretty darn good.

Hey John!
Nice to see that you're going to get the Solid G! I love mine btw!
However you might wanna take a look at the 8900G instead of the 9256 and try to get them from Rotor Hobby. It was about 130SGD back in December so without hesitation, i bought one to keep as a spare to replace my 9254 when it finally dies on me. If Rotor is still selling them at this price, I'd get them if i were you.

As for the throttle servo, im using a Hitec 6975HB myself. Plenty fast for me. I dont see any need to get those blazing fast rurdder servos like the 9254. Im sure they wouldn't last as long 6975 and neither would they take a 6V setup without getting fried

Hey Jeremy,
Have not seen you in a couple of weeks. Hope all has been good.
My friend in Indonesia had his 8900 lock up during a pyro. He said other people have had the same problem. He changed to a 9254 and has had very good luck. My 9256 has been good with my 611 for almost 200 flights and has a heatsink.

But thanks for the tip on the hitec for throttle. I forgot about the voltage as I will be running 6 volts!

run a 9452 on throttle or if you want something lighter use a 3155 both work great and i have used them both on the ATG

on a side note i have been running a 8900 servo and never had a problem with it.
