click on your region for a contest calendar. IMAC is gaining popularity all over the country, and is fast beating Pattern to death.

I got into IMAC because I needed a greater purpose for my fixed-wing flying, frankly because I was getting bored with planks. Also, I wanted a venue for competition, and FAI style heli competition in CO was non-existant. Now that I'm in FL, I might consider heli contest flying as well.

Plank flying isn't so boring when your goal is to execute a two turn spin or a center box hammerhead with 1/4 rolls as near perfect as humanly possible. I can do some of the 3D stuff with my Extra, but it's not what I have it for. I can't afford to dork a $3500 airplane like I can my $1500 Fury, so the Fury is what I take out all my stress on

Yeah, yeah. Now I gotta show off my planks too. I have them to relax after flying the helis:
Filip 600 Electric Glider. 2000ft/min climb rate.

LT-40 converted to twin. Massively overpowerd.

Hanger 9 P-51D in final building stages.

Also got most of a TopFlite Corsair.

I started in planks as well last year and just this spring started into helis.
Right now I have in flying condition my:
Lanier F4 with OS 46 and pipe
Ultrastick 40 with TT 46
Goldberg Tiger 2 with OS 60 4stroke( This is my favorite plane. I have so much fun I converted it to a bomber and now for kicks I drop a pair of plastic bombs off the plane on every flight. Didn't take away from flight performance either.)
I also have A shike 40 and a simple ultimate waiting on engine and radio stuff and a wonder and fairchild 22 on the building board
