JR Heli Vibe - Airskipper - Sylphide - Venture > Tail Drive Gear Wobble?

Hi Everyone, I have an issue with the Main Drive Gear Assembly page 9 in the manual. I have the bird together and hovered it a few times and I was looking it over to see if I had the head wobble issue when I noticed the Tail Drive Gear wobbling on the main shaft. After closer inspection I am seeing the Tail Drive Gear Housing see-sawing on the the jesus bolt that goes through the tail drive gear housing then the autorotation shaft then through the main shaft. I noticed the autorotation shaft fits the main shaft good, The slop is between the tail drive gear housing and autorotion shaft. Has anyone else seen this?
Horizon is awsome, They are sending me a new autorotation shaft and tail drive gear housing to try. "Align never does this, they would not even return an email to my buddies problem". I will post my findings when the new parts show up. I am not sure if this is the same problem Tony was having when he tightened up his bolt too tight and caused the autorotation bearing to lock up? Thanks for any info in advance. Doug

The wobble is normal. I have it too. When I removed it (by tightening the lower jesus bolt and line up the housing) it made the one way lock 4 flights later.

Now I don't bother. I just let it wooble. It straitens out itself if the jesus bolt isn't too tight anyway.

Tony

I have the same movement. I put some green loctite on the sleeve to hold it in place. I will post when it is dry and reassembled.

The green locktite seems to have held the autorotation shaft into the tail drive gear housing. I put the locktite on the shaft and the gear housing then used the bolt to hold it in the correct position. Once it was dry I reassembled the unit. This will hopefully solve the issue if JR does not come out with a fix.

Has anyone measured the amount of "wobble" they have? I have just a few flights on mine and didn't notice any problems in the first couple flight just hovering and adjusting head speed. However, when I went to forward flight I heard a clicking noise when I would load the tail. I have so much wobble in the tail gear (.030) that the gear is clipping the magnets on the clutch bell as it wobbles. I can't for the live of me figure out why this much wobble would be "normal".

you could use a couple of setscrews to hold the lower casing to the one way sleeve. I heard someone doing that with good results. This wouldn't damage the internal structure like tightening down the 4mm jesus bolt

So far the locktite is holding great. NO movement in the gear, no strange noise, gear mesh is right on and this vibe kicks ass.
