Just wondering if Im going to blow the head off my QJ on Sunday lol.
Ive got hold of a 19 tooth pinion, running 6s, Hacker A30 10XL (890kv) and a 60a Turnigy Plush esc.
Readyheli calc has between 2972-3066 HS, from 95 to 98% efficiency.
Running 420mm RJX carbon blades, so I assume these will load the head a lil bit more and drop the HS a touch.

Opinions???

If you bling it, they will come :D

That seems a smidge over-opportunistic I calculate HS using anywhere from 80 to 85% effeciency. There's a bit more working against you than just the motor.

Shelldude
In flight HS you'd be correct. I always use calcs to estimate the max zero pitch HS to give me some sort of idea of where it will be at.
Been pretty bang on with the calcs.
Im expecting about 2900 in the hover. Doesnt really matter to me, so long as the thing performs, and Im not over stressing anything.
Looking forward to trying more flips tomorrow, and if all goes well I'll have a crack at some tic tocs with it.
Already doing them on my 450, but 2400 HS on the QJ just doesnt cut it really.
We'll see if the weather is nice tomorrow. It has been really crappy for a while now.
Ive only got anough 3s packs to do 2 flights as 6s, so I best make em good lol

Do you have a link for the RJX blades? I'm running MSComposits but am always on the lookout for alternate 420s...

Here from the shop I work part time at http://www.takeoffandland.com.au/pr...797d68b14491afa

It doesnt say so, but RJX is the manufacturer.
They also do some very nice white fiberglass blades too, fly great.

Took her out for a few flights today.
Headspeed was very nice, but didnt seem to be able to hold full power.
Motor wasnt bogging, so something else is up.
Checked pinion as well.

Fitted boom supports this afternoon, gives the heli a different look.

Also fitted my Spartan DS760 gyro.
Lots of fluffing around to do the PC update for the firmware, but once thats done its easy.
I was using a mates GY240 as he isnt using it right now.
Anyway, it wagged constantly and piro rate was sleepy time slow lol.
Power up the Spartan and wiggle rudder stick back and fortha s fast as I can.....OH MY!!! Seriously blinding fast.
Cant wait to test fly it.
