The FBI has increasingly used administrative orders to obtain the personal records of U.S. citizens rather than foreigners implicated in terrorism or counterintelligence investigations, and at least once it relied on such orders to obtain records that a special intelligence-gathering court had deemed protected by the First Amendment, according to two government audits released yesterday.
-------------------------------------------------

OK Mr Ozark. By your posts I am reading you do not want surveillance on suspected terrorists and you think the government should not protect us from them with an extremely important tool for the use on the war on terror.

Also, by your posts, you really believe that George Bush intends to spy on you, your family, and everyone else. NOT the terrorists.

Also, you believe that when terrorists are spied upon by the USA, they are violating their civil rights.

Also, you believe that US citizens that may be spied upon are shining citizens that have their civil rights violated.

In other words, you want to protect the terrorists that truly want to kill us.

Thats what I am reading from your ridiculous posts.

Well heck, keep it up. Your lib ranting about this is just what makes you shine to an American patriot as a real weirdo.

Remember this:

WE WERE ATTACKED !!! WE CAN BE ATTACKED AGAIN !!!!

Thats what the surveillance issue is all about.

Congratulation's. You truly are a weirdo lib.

Still having fun with the libs.

They are looking for terrorists you ninny. Not the neighbor dog.

And I provided you with links that prove that they were in fact abusing the laws and spying on Americans that had NOTHING to do with terrorists which you even quoted back to me in your reply where you try to give me a position that I am somehow siding with terrorists?

Have you stepped completely outside of your mind? Do you honestly believe that tagging an issue with "terrorist" even when its not terror related completely overrides US Constitutional law?

You have a point there. I must be completely out of my mind to try and explain this stuff here.

Please don't refer me to lefty web sites like the ACLU, the New York Times, or the Washington Post. They are loosing subscribers because they lie to much and people are tired of it. Those sources are false. and lefty nonsense. I will ignore those.

Provide me with a Fox News source or a Rush Limbaugh source. Those sources are reliable. Thats my 2 cents. Like it or not.

Still having fun with the libs. Keep them coming ladies.

You didn't actually read any of the articles did you? If you had, you'd realize that you've that you've painted yourself into a corner trying to argue points that you obviously do not understand.

You are correct. I did not read those articles. As mentioned, those web sites are unreliable lefty sources. So, why should I bother to read those articles.

You did not read my response. Read it again.

I did. Please let us know when there is proof that anyones civil rights or civil liberties are actually violated.

Although the investigation uncovered no examples of lives turned upside down or businesses disrupted, the privacy problems went beyond the theoretical in a few instances. One letter demanding telephone toll-billing records yielded voice messages because a recipient was overly cooperative.

Another letter demanding e-mail transaction records was answered by e-mail contents and images.

In other incidents, though rare, national security letters seeking data on individuals were answered by information on the wrong people “due to either to F.B.I. typographical errors or errors by the recipients” of the letters, Mr. Fine wrote.

You really are proud to be ignorant aren't you.

Fox has the story and reiterates the same points as those "lefty" sites. FYI, Rush is a commentator and gives opinion. You do know the difference between news and opinion don't you? I really don't think you do.

I guess it would be in the FBI directors admission that persons rights were violated and his admission that they would take steps to make sure it didn't happen again. What more did you want?

Like something you can hold in your hand? PM me a fax number and I'll print it out and send it to you.
Normal people would assume an admission by the head of the agency to be enough, had it been otherwise they would have issued a denial.

Are you trying to say that they issued an admission, even though they had done nothing wrong?

No, I am saying that, even though there was some abuse of the system, no one was actually harmed from that abuse. Until someone is actually harmed, I don't have a problem with the FBI doing there job and occasionally skirting the law if they have to, in order to in order to track terrorists or Americans who may be aiding and or abetting them.

The first time an innocent civilian suffers from that abuse, it is a whole different story. At that point, action must be taken against the agency.

I never said that. You did. BTW: I am not offended. I could care less what you think of me.

What I said is that I am proud to be a red neck. There happen to be a lot of red necks out there that are not ignorant.

Actually, I am not the kind of red neck that has old broken cars and refrigerators all over his yard with 4 foot tall grass growing all over, a pig sty for a house, and is uneducated. By your response, thats what you think.

I am just the kind of red neck that gets a kick out of Larry The Cable Guy.

So, where is your Fox News source? I may want to take a peek at that. You are the one that insists on using so called information sources to back your claims. I don't have to for the most part. I know how you libs think. Thats all I need.

Rush is a commentator. He also uses reliable sources like the libs themselves and uses their own words against them by playing sound clips of their own words. Now thats a reliable source in my mind.

He also is the USA's single most popular radio talk show host on EIB that is profitable and growing. ALL the main lib news sources and talk radio hosts are dieing and loosing money.

I wasn't there at the time, but I don't think the framers of the Constitution quite had that angle in mind. I would like to believe that it was to protect even one person from that abuse.

That aside, its pretty interesting reading into it though.

The framers of our constitution never met Palosi or Dirty Harry Reid either. I don't think they had that angle in mind.

If they did, they would turn over in their graves and be quite embarrassed.

You mean like this?

I quote from RushLimbaugh.com (8/18/03)

Quote
These tough sentencing laws were instituted for a reason. The American people, including liberals, demanded them. Don't you remember the crack cocaine epidemic? Crack babies and out-of-control murder rates? Liberal judges giving the bad guys slaps on the wrist? Finally we got tough, and the crime rate has been falling ever since, so what's wrong?

Or even this really appropriate one

Rush Limbaugh radio show 8/20/95

Quote
When you strip it all away, Jerry Garcia destroyed his life on drugs. And yet he's being honored, like some godlike figure. Our priorities are out of whack, folks.

Remember the Oxycontin epidemic? You know, the one when Rush copped a plea deal with a liberal judge and paid a 30k fine and entered court ordered drug rehab?

Ozark:

Am I missing something?

What does the above have to do with surveillance issues you have been harping about?

Never mind.

Yes, Rush copped a plea deal with a liberal judge and paid a 30k fine and entered court ordered drug rehab. I think.

That was not cool. I am sure even he will admit that. But, he didn't kill anybody, rape anybody, or have a crack baby.

At the same time, a $30,000.00 fine and drug rehab is hardly a slap on the wrist Ozark.
