The combination of steel bolt with aluminum head works well to keep the bolts tight in place. As the engine heats up, components expand. Due to the delta (difference of the coef. thermal expansion between two dissimilar meterial), the bolts get tighter and tighther as with elevating temp. Basically, aluminum head expands more than steel bolts. At high temps locktite will soften up. BTW, that is how (heating) you remove a stuck bolt due to red locktite.
