I bought some HiTec HS65 or 55 servo's to replace my old E-Flite ones and just a few flights after one of them started to twitch already!

Hitec servos are some of the best out there.. every product can have defects.

My hitecs work perfect they are hs65's a twitchy servo is most likely a problem elsewhere. But I do like the s75's eflite over the Esky 8g servos.

A friend of mine sells about 300 Hitecs a year.

SOME are defective. 2% Maybe.

I trust they didn't cause a crash.

He advised me to test on the ground for 10 minutes when first installed.

I have them on my 500 and 600N.

They're perfect!

Well zaw theres our little groups feelings on hitec servos. Hope you find your problem even if it is the servo. But you acted like you werent sure if it was 55's or 65's 55's are cheap servos buy cheap get cheap. But even the good ones have a few defects.

My feeling is that Hitec servos are good but not quite made to the quality of Futaba and JR servos. They seem to make a few really good servos and then a bunch of others that are just ok. That said I got a bad Futaba servo a few weeks back. When powered up it will not center right away. It hunts around until I move the arm myself, then it finds center and kinda works. I have 7 other Futaba servos and they have been flawless. My one Hitec HS81 has been great.

These are 65's. My friend have some HS45's and they had very beefy gears so I i figure 65's will come in larger casing with same types gears but NO they're built just like Eflite/Esky ones with small gears.

Looks like the Potentiometer in there is a gonner. I tried on BladeCP RX and it does the same right above the center. If I feather the sticks slowly it twitch harder. Oh well..

I got some super cheap servo's from HobbyCity, HXT900's https://www.unitedhobbies.com/UNITE...p?idProduct=662 they're extremely strong and fast. People on their forums seem to likes them a lot. Less the $4 each can't beat it. See how long they last. Just flew with those, the heli is more responsive then it ever been with these servos!

they arn't 65s then the carbonite or metal gears are nearly indestructible compared to the POS Eskys.
there isn't even a comparison to the craptastic Eskys.

With the exception of my Raptor 30 running Futaba servos, all my helis and nitro cars use Hitec servos.

My HBK2, Trex 450, and Zoom 450 nitro all have HS 65 MG servos, and if Hitec ever gets around to releasing the digital 5065 MGs, I'll swap all of the analogs for the digital version. I've crashed all of them and never had to repair or replace a servo due to crash damage.

That said, the first crash of the 450 nitro heli was due to the 65 MG aileron servo failing in flight and while it sucks that the heli crashed, sometimes components fail.

S**t happens, I got over it ...

I learned to fly on a Trex, I learned to crash on a Blade CP...

Sorry to hear you're having issues. I run Hi-Tec 65's and have yet to have an issue in the 3 T-rex's that I currently own. I was almost going to ask what receiver you were running, but I see in your profile you're running the 6EX (I run the same). I am going to second (or third, I've lost count) that you have defective units. I have always had excellent centering and response through mine (as others have as well). I would really, really, really think about returning them. If you're set on junking them, you can send them to me (I'll pay postage); let me check them out in my 6EX, and I'll let you know if they are troublesome in my setup, if not I'll send them back, at no charge. If they are, then you now know for a fact they are faulty, again I'll send them back to you to return (again no charge)....Just a thought/offer.

I used to be normal, but then I started flying heli's....

I'm stupid, I got HS-55's not 65's.

MY BAD!

The one I have are NOT 65's they are cheap HS-55's. Had a long day today at work and its hot. I would not have spend that much on servo with level of skill I got on heli's.

Oh well. I'll get RMA from Hitec tomorrow.

Any mass produced electronic item will have it's share of fualty units. Saying hitec sucks over 1 bad servo is pretty harsh. I use hitec servos in all my r/c planes, trucks, and helis. I would even go as far as saying they are better $ to $ then futaba or JR. Either way I think your in the minority in your opinion about hitec.

Griffin WHO NEEDS YOUR OPINIONS??????????

You loose your team affiliation over a $50.00 set of blades that you promised in a deal to a "Kid", and get po'd at him for posting the info on line and use that as an excuse to confirm your not shipping the materials 2 weeks earlier as promised with NO CONTACT!!!! Then you want to impress everyone with your "opinions"..... Don't think that anyone wants to follow in your shadow!!!!!! I also see that you cleared your profile.... no longer have your occupation listed as: BUM..... you could have left that one... at least you were honest in that respect!!!!!!!!! Do the right thing and try to rebuild your name... and best of luck with whatever it is your doing now....

If there is a cure for this, please don't tell me about it!!!

Some might draw the conclusion that you are one of the "faulty units" of the "mass produced" human race. Man up and pay the kid the money you owe him. Karma is a bitch, and I would tell you that you have yours coming, but based on how crappy you acted in your deal gone south, I'd say your life must already suck...you loser!

If everyone is thinking alike, someone isn't ...

OK guys you need to drop it this is an Esky forum we talk esky and whatever brands we have. Its appreciated that you warned us all about Griffin that was the right thing to do but lets keep it in at least one topic instead of chasing down every last one of his posts. I started one just to warn others let him have it there without bringing up to much personal slander or it will get pinked or closed.
