I have just acquired a Robbe BK117 fuse with Futura SE mechanics in it and 2 blade head. Does anyone have any experience of this model and is there any special to look out for?

thanks

It's a lovely machine , I have one that I'm slowly fitting the PHT3 turbine in , and the old Futura mechs are now in a pod and boom configuration , and Zenoa powered. Just fitted the Helicommand to it and am quite enjoying the tinkering , you can see the fuzz in my gallery it was years ago on the cover of a magazine. It's quite heavy as a gasser , and I had to nurse it to keep it in the air , but still a pleasure to fly , only thing to be aware of is , keep the weight down.
Dave.

WHAT GOES UP MUST SURELY COME DOWN.

I used my Futura SE Mechs in a 60 size Funkey ARH long Ranger. View my gallery. It definitely needed modifications to make it work. The Futura SE mechanics are tall and long as heck, so making it full scale with a cockpit aint going to happen, unless you convert it to CCPM. I love my Futura SE and I have two of them. One is going in my Robbe Hughes 500E and the other is in my ARH. I love the LH rotation. They are smooth and sound like a turbine when spooling up. However, parts aren't that cheap, but the easiest bird I've ever worked on.

It must be BK117 season because my 90 size BK117 just arrived yesterday. .

As an FYI, if you really want to make your BK117 stand out, put the Robbe four bladed head on it. They do exist and it would really look very scale. Good luck.

The BK117 is my FAVORITE bird.

How high do they go? Are those things hard too fly? How much do they cost?
