I was just wondering.. I'm very new to heli's and bought RealFlight G2 to work with my radio, so I can practice heli's before actually trying to fly the ones I have. I have 2 Nexus 30's, and a Concept 46vr that will collect dust till I master the Nexus.. My question is, how realistic are the heli's on that sim??? I can do aerobatics without too much effort now, but is it much like an actual flight?? I've been flying planes for 20 years now, mostly competition and airshows.. but this is the first time I tried heli's.

Thanks

I found the sim to be exactly like the real thing. After 2 weeks on the sim I went out to the field and started to hover with training gear. I flew all Saturday with the gear, on Sunday I took the training gear off and started to fly around. Just amazing I think. Yes I think the sim is worth all the money I spent on it.

G-2?

The sim is very good. If you want it more life like, crank up the wind and gusts-that will get the pucker factor going for you.

I'm still learning to hover myself with the real heli but in the sim I can do much more even some flips and inverted flight but I know in my mind if I crash, no harm done just reset. On the other hand when I have the real heli out I am alot more cautious and nervous which I think holds me back abit. But I don't think I would be as far as I am if I didn't have the sim. I think the flight characteristics of the helis in G2 and the real thing are pretty darn close.

Thanks!!! The wind at 0 is definately not realistic.. I usually have it at 5-10mph with gusts to 20mph. I fly on top of a hill, and our club field is 2338 feet above sea level.. so I can hardly remember a time that it was dead calm

I was hoping the flight characteristics were close.. that's also why I bought the version that my radio can plug right into...

Thanks again,
Vo

Just a quick little thing that happened to me today. I had a microsft update come up, so I downloaded it. Well, the next thing I know my simi doesn't work! I called their supprt line (very helpful) and they found that my dx had been updated to 8.1 and my video card had a 2-4-02 update just for this. I updated the card and I'm back in business! But besides that, it is very helpful in helping me learn. I am hovering on the simi, and once I get mine built I'll be ready to try the real thing. I highly recommend it.
