JR Heli Vibe - Airskipper - Sylphide - Venture > Autorotation assembly Xtreme 50 vs Vibe 50 - UPDATE!

Hi guys

Does anybody know if the xtreme autorotation unit is the same as the vibe 50's?

Its because I blew mine up and I need a new one to refill my stock level. Only problem is that the vibe auto unit is like $80 over here. I've noticed that the xtreme 50 autounit looks the same (and being based on the airskipper... it could be the same) and only costs like $20... even the part numbers match (HN61074 vs JRH61074 )

Any ideas?
Thx

I'm pretty sure the X50 is NOT based on the airskipper, the previous hurricane 50 was....

Can't be any more help than that

OK. I'm very sorry for not explaining it better...

Airskipper => Hurricane 50 => Xtreme 50

Result: 32mm frame spacing, same clutchbell and main gears, same center bearing blocks, compatible tail pitch plate, compatible tail rotor and now possibly same auto unit?

Better?

Was just looking at the differences....

You're right, it seems the airskipper/Hurricane share the same part # auto unit as the X50.

Well, I'll be only 100% sure in a couple of weeks. The Dealer that has those units at a very good price is on vacations. When he gets back, I'll ask him to measure it for me.

God knows how. I was testing the tail after my 9254 started to act up on me and I replaced it with a bls251. Maybe I got carried away, I don't know. Anyway, the night after I was checking the tail gears and then I noticed the one way was locked up tight. After managing to unlock it, a needle roller fell out... I replaced the whole unit and sleeve from one of my spare boxes but I do need to replace it eventually.

I believe that tightening the lower jesus bolt might have been the root origin as I never tighten it down on any of my birds and I never had a one way lock up on me (not even on my 600N). A few days ago I tighten the jesus bolt to straiten out the lower tail output gear (80T). Stupid move I guess since it only took like 4 flights to lock up.

Anyway, time will tell on this new unit.

I'm shocked that thing went. Honestly I'd see about getting your distributer or JR to replace it. If that happened to mine it would be going back to Horizon.

Well I can ask Andy about it but I doubt it. I can't see a Heli brand replace a part just because it failed after some flights. That would mean hirobo replacing the phasing rings, Rjx replacing main gears and cof... cof... Align replacing the entire bird?

Well, I guess have nothing to loose since I seem to be an isolated case. I never heard anyone complaining about locking the one way on a vibe 50.

I'm a ex 600N owner. I know what I'm talking about rotfl

On another note, I left Andy a msg about this. He's going to contact Macgregor tomorrow and see what they decide.

UPDATE

Well damm me. Just got a message from Andy that a new unit is in the mail.

Thx to Barracuda and the others that pm'd me suggesting I should take it to the dealer.

I do need to send the old unit back for JR to look at it. I guess I'm the only guy that managed to lock up a JR one way

I'm also going to send them back the lower sleeve (I also replaced it on my bird) since any problem with the sleeve would also havoc the one way bearing...

Anyway, I'm impressed and thumbs up for Andy @ RealRaptors, Macgregor and JR
