The 91 ST performs best at 8.45

at 8.18 you're gonna have to have a really insane headspeed (Way too high)to get the best performance out of the engine.

The older I get, the shorter my attention....... Oh look. A shiny penny..

8.18 really isn't in the range for the 91 ST.

converting the gear ratio will cost about $100

The older I get, the shorter my attention....... Oh look. A shiny penny..

It will work fine on the 8.18 ratio. Just run 680 blades and turn the headspeed up to 2000. I did it and it was a better feel than my 8.45 with 710's. I had less bog and quicker response with the Fury.

It'll work fine on 8.18 with 710's for that matter. On my Raptor 90, I preferred the 8.28 ratio w/ 710's

I run mine with 8.18 with MP2/CP30 and it gets 9min 3D flight time with 2oz header. Blades are 710 xcell/MAH.

Yes YS .90ST in a fury. I flew one quite some time with this configuration. It did fly fine with the 710's but the 680's and 2000 RPM really kept the head from loading up with hard collective for me.

The 90 St works great on that gear ratio. I ran it on ALL gear ratios in that machine, and the best running machine was the 8.18, in my opinion. I now have one in an Avant that is running 8.08, and one in the Aurora that is running 8.25. Both work just fine.
