I am pretty sure you can only run the AR6000s on a converted 6102. I don't think DSM2 RXs will work with a DSM TX.

Yeap. Converted 6102 uses DX6 RF deck, and that is DSM. I will ONLY work with the AR6000 or BR6000 Rxes.

If you want to use DSM2 Rxes, you need to get a new radio, DX6i, DX7, X9303 or 12X.

nitro bird

thanx guys for the super fast replies!

i already have ar6000 installed on my trex 450 and thought to get ar6200 for my nitro raptor because it's full range rx and the ar6000 is known as park flyer rx. the truth is i flew my trex so far and high so is there really a reason why not buy it for my nitro bird?

thanx,
liran

I wouldn't risk it. Losing control of a large nitro heli could be very dangerous if the RX fails. Pick up a cheap used DX7 and it will fly your 6000s and all of the DSM2 RXs.

raptor 30

and for a raptor 30 nitro would you use the ar6000??
i'm sorry but i really can't see the difference, from the safety aspect, if you lose control of a 450 size electric it's as danger as losing it for a 30 nitro bird, and i know that the manufacturer defines the ar6000 as a "park flyer" rx, and the ar6200 is a "full range" rx. my trex flies very high and very far with the ar6000, more than my eyes can see i really don't feel like spending more for a new or used tx.

I have a converted 6102 and I admit, I have never had a problem with range. I have flown it on planks so far away that I thought I would never get them back. It has been a great radio and I have never had a single problem with it. However, its just not worth the risk IMO to put together a heli with questionable equipment. I run a 6200 on my R30 and it works great.

If you do go ahead and try it. Make sure you mount it on some foam since the RX is not designed for nitro vibrations. Do plenty of range checks from different angles to make sure their aren't any orientations that block the signal.

It is not a range issue.

It is an issue with the motor and large metal or CF parts sheilding the Rx antenna from the Tx signal.
