| The antennas are not mounted any different on these RX's then they are on any Spektrum RX.

Not true. As I mentioned in an earlier post all three of my AR7100R's had weak solder joints and the antennas fell off. Two were on an Aurora but the third was on a N9. A fourth, owned and flown by a friend (in an Aurora nonetheless) has a much better solder joint - he has had no problems with it so far. There is a night and day difference between the soldering on his and the soldering on mine. There is clearly a batch of these receivers (or batches) on the market with a substandard antenna connection.
AND, FWIW, I have a SPEKTRUM AR9000 on my Aurora now with over 40 flights and the antennas are still attached. The antennas on the AR7100R never made it past about ten flights.
P.S. I'm sure the reason we're seeing this in Aurora's right now is because that's the new bird on market and people are buying new equipment for the build. Most generally don't run out and replace working receivers in existing birds for no reason. I'm sure that as the 700's start hitting the skies we'll see the same problem for the same reason. |
