Has anyone seen this? I'm thinking about using it to help the camera operator on my 360 pan tilt mount, and perhaps for fun a little FPV on the side.

It is on my list, not available yet though. Intelligent flight made a far simpler unit, but they were always out of stock. I can assure you that at $300 for a return to base system and full HUD like that, it must be a good value.

For AP I think such a device is very helpful, I've been far out and 2nd guessed whether I am inbound or outbound, fortunately never had the heli run away, but this is an additional safety net to prevent a runaway.

Yep, I agree Disciple, I still would like to see a artificial horizon on one of these. I think it would really help out to know whether you are nose down or nose up or level. Might just be me, but I think it should help.

Why would you not include the pitch and roll indicator, this is all I am waiting on to order one of these systems? Somebody make one already!

Pitch and roll indicator, that would amount to inertial sensing, and realistically it would cost well over double the cost, right? The autopilot they are probably referring to employing probably is similar to the U-NAV items I use on a plane, specifically the ALT3 and RTL modules. The alt uses barometric pressure to keep altitude, and the RTL uses GPS to bring you home with a little gyro help from the unit itself.

Bear in mind this is speculation on the Rangevideo stuff, I don't have and further details on the function of their yet to be released OSD.

My Posts This: Topic Forum Yes demands for IF OSD and IF Dragon OSD has been too much for what they can handle. They didn't expect it to go this crazy! Also Hobby Lobby just hooked up with them and now they have to do bigger volume productions by no longer populating the boards themselves, instead having the PCB manufacturer take responsibility of that now.

Anyhow I thought I keep you guys updated on Intelligent Flight's Dragon OSD. Daniel Wee, the developer of Dragon is fine tuning his IMU by rewriting the software. At the present the Artificial Horizon is still a tad behind from real time but he is getting close! He's tweaking the software values as I am typing this now. Here is a small video of his 5th test flight. ( http://www.vimeo.com/996560 )
