Did it seem like a radio issue?

I think what it was, was the crappy RX battery...JR 2700mah...unloaded it tested out to be at ab out 5.17v...With the radio on, and doing crack, it would drop down to roughly 4.3v or so..which will make the fasst rx go nuts...

you probably already know this, but shouldn't you be using a 7.4v lipo with REG or a least a 6.0v pack. For doing heli crack

Man thats gotta hurt

Its not a lipo...Its a 4.8v 4 cell nimh 2700mah battery...Id never do a direct lipo, with servos that cant handle it.

ahh I see now to make matters worse its a nimh 2700mah max output is 2.7 amps or 1C

If you would have used Ni-cad you would have been alright.

you can get a 6v Ni-cad pack and run it direct with a step down on the tail servo.
try using something like this
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...p?&I=LXHUA8&P=7

IMO I wouldn't run a REG 1 more thing to go wrong or use lipo but thats what the pro's are using

aren't those 2 in 1 things limited to 3A load? The tail servo alone pulls 3A if stalled. My amp draw is 270mah per 7 min flight. That works out to be an average load of 2.3A. There must be some high peaks in that #.
